Mayflower II |
Mayflower II Records indicate that the Mayflower was built before 1606. Christopher Jones of Harwich, Essex was commander and part owner of the vessel, which made the historic voyage from Southampton. Port books indicate that the Mayflower made trips to Norway and France to exchange goods. In 1620 the Mayflower was contracted to transport colonists to Northern Virginia which is now New York City / New Jersey. The vessel touched American soil at Provincetown at the tip of Cape Cod and then Plymouth Rock.
